    Oracle Data Warehousing Performance Architect As a member of the Oracle Business Intelligence and Warehousing team (BI&W), the Consultant will participate in broad, complex, and critical Oracle Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse engagements, providing guidance and direction to project team members, clients, and partners. The consultant will be responsible for designing and tuning the technical infrastructure and database in a data warehouse implementation. An Oracle Data Warehousing Data Architect interacts with all levels of client technical and business management, along with various organizations in Oracle to marshal the resources required for successful implementation. Qualifications: Candidate must have eight to ten or more years DBA experience, implementing decision support systems, Data Warehouses, preferably involving very large databases and multiple RAC nodes. Experience with 10g or 11g versions of the Oracle database is critical. A deep understanding of DW and DSS architecture, design, implementation is required. Preferred skills will include translating Logical Designs into Physical environment, instillation, tuning, and hardware selection. SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Loader, UNIX, Linux, Windows skill valuable. Must have experience working in a Data Warehouse environment large than one Terabyte. Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and be willing to travel extensively. Prior consulting experience also a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Will leverage knowledge of current data warehouse and software development methodologies to contribute to the overall planning of projects by recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines. 2) Will contribute to database design through hands on knowledge of Oracle database’s DW features, including but not limited to partitioning, indexing strategies, materialized views, and query rewrite. 3) Will write technical and/or business specifications. 4) Will assist in formulating business requirements and mapping source data to logical and physical database designs. 5) Will assist in the determination of capacity planning and hardware sizing. 6) Ideally, will draw on previous experience with RAC and Grid Control to performance tune and monitor multi node architectures involving multi terabytes of data 7) Will provide guidance, assistance, and training opportunities to team members and client staff. 8) Will from time to time, provide quality and assurance oversight in ongoing implementations and/or will conduct assessments of existing decision support systems for purpose of making recommendations for improvements thereof. 100% Travel required
